Dothan Leisure Services summer camps will be in session this summer, but the numbers the city usually can take will be cut significantly.

This year there will be about 200 campers instead of the 800 the city would normally host.

This is being done to maintain social distancing at different centers.

Camp Choctaw's price will be reduced to $50 since there won't be as many field trips this year.

The price of the playground program remains the same. $20 for one child and $5 for each additional child up to $30.

The service is needed as businesses start to reopen and parents go back to work.

“It was really important that they had someplace safe and fun to send their children during the summer,” says Dothan Leisure Service programs coordinator Stephanie Wingfield.

Registration for Camp Choctaw is June 2nd from 4-6 at Doug Tew Center.

The playground program registration will be on June 6th from 9 am to noon at the different centers.

Spots are first come first serve.
