DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Dothan High School held their 50th annual JROTC Military Ball Friday.

The ball was organized by Dothan High School Military leaders to celebrate the success of their cadets.

Each year the cadets hold fundraisers to sponsor their own ball and this year there were over 130 attendees, in addition to guest speakers and other military personnel.

JROTC Chief, Robert Irvin says the event was a chance for cadets to dress up, get out and celebrate.. all the program has taught them.

"The program is about making them better citizens and one of the ways we do that is getting them out into the community to see the diff activities and organizations and for them to be a part of that. and to understand its important to others as well as to help themselves." -- ROBERT IRVIN, CHIEF
