OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG) -- A Santa Rosa County man is facing charges after deputies believe he was trying to rob a gas station.

Okaloosa County Sheriff's Deputies say a deputy walked into the Circle K on Harbor Boulevard early Monday morning and saw a man at the counter writing on a piece of paper. The deputy reports the man told the clerk to throw away the paper and then left the store.

The clerk did not throw it away, and showed it to the deputy. Deputies say the note said "All I need is the timer on the safe" and "you give false description." The clerk told the deputy the man had entered the store and started talking to her about opening the safe, leading her to believe he was trying to rob the store.

The deputy arrested the man, Holden Danjean, 26, on a charge of attempted robbery without a firearm or weapon.
