Dash, the superhero dog, comes back home after surgery

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Last week, WTVY asked for your help raising money to help Dash, the superhero dog, have a lifesaving surgery.

Dash is a diabetic service dog that alerts Abigail Eagle, a girl in Enterprise, when her blood sugar is too low or too high.

After returning from vacation, the family thought Dash was acting a little strange.

It turns out he had a tumor growing near his lung.

They started a Go Fund Me to pay for the surgery, and received plenty of support from the community.

Abigail was thrilled to see Dash back home again.

"He's just always there for me,” said Eagle. “Even if, I feel like I'm not like every other kid. He's just kind of there to make me feel like I am."

The surgery went well, and Dash's owners will have to take him back up to auburn in a couple of weeks for a checkup.
