DALEVILLE, AL (WTVY) -- An attorney will fill a vacancy on the Daleville City Council.
Council members made the decision this afternoon after a 45 minute executive session.
They selected Alicia Joe Reese from more than a dozen applications.
Reese will takes over the position vacated by Marvin Wise for the remainder of his term, it ends in 2021. A date has not been set for her swearing in.
Daleville City Attorney Henry Steagall says "I just think that Ms Reese is gonna be a very good appointee, and will serve with distinction as a council member in the city of Daleville."
Wise is facing multiple sex crime charges, including possessing child pornography, sodomy, rape, and sexual abuse.
He was removed from the council in January after missing too many meetings.
