DALEVILLE, Ala. (WTVY) -- Before getting the chance to coach one game.....
Daleville High School baseball coach and Windham Elementary teacher, Justin Hendrix appears to be on his way out.
Superintendent Lisa Stamps placed Hendrix on administrative leave last week.
She also sent a letter to him saying she was recommending he be terminated.
Stamps says she made the decision after hearing concerns from administrators. Those concerns, involve his role as a teacher.
She went on to say that this is a personnel matter - and that his job as baseball coach was not a factor in the decision.
Stamps did say that a donation was made to the baseball program by one of Hendrix's family members.
But the school system made the decision not to accept the check.
Stamps says her focus, is on moving the school forward.
"Our students are number one, the number one reason why we make every decision and so every decision is very important because of students. We are going forward with baseball, we will not be without a coach. Our guys deserve like every other sport our very best and they will not be without a coach," superintendent, Lisa Stamps said.
WTVY did reach out to Hendrix about the situation but he said he had been advised by his attorney not to make a comment.
The Daleville City Board of Education will meet on February 19th at 4:30pm at the Daleville City Schools central office to discuss Justin Hendrix's termination recommendation.
