Cargo plane crashes at Tuscaloosa airport; no injuries reported
Officials say crew members are safe after a cargo plane crashed at Tuscaloosa Regional Airport Monday night.
Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox said a front landing gear malfunction caused the crash. The plane is a Boeing 727 cargo plane.
Lt. Teena Richardson said the nose flap was damaged in the landing. The plane did catch fire, but no one was injured, she said.
The airport runway is closed until further notice.
