Dothan, AL - As Alabama braces for severe storms, LifeSouth asks the community to donate blood before the weather hits.

All blood types are needed, especially type O. Donating now ensures local hospitals have blood available to help those who may be injured or need a blood transfusion during the storm. Donors will also be needed after the storm passes.

LifeSouth is the primary provider of blood to our local hospitals. Please help patients at local hospitals by donating blood.

LifeSouth locations are open in Alabama. Find a donor center near you, visit lifesouth.org or call 888-795-2707. Donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with parental permission, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good health.

LifeSouth is a non-profit community blood center serving hospitals in Alabama, Florida and Georgia.
