Some Beverlye Magnet students are vying to be robotics champions of the world!

On Thursday afternoon, students lined the halls of the middle school, cheering on the two teams of seventh graders, who will be heading to Louisville, Kentucky Friday morning.

The students are hoping to walk away with the top prize at the 2019 Vex I.Q. Robotics Competition.

The students have already won 2 regional titles and a state championship with their BMS1 and BMS2 robots, but a win at the world's, would be an honor they say they'll never forget.

"It would be a huge accomplishment for our teams,” said seventh grader, Cooper Smith.

“And it would be a big part of our young lives," Smith said.

The students have been working on their robots since August of 2018.

They will be competing against more than 400 other teams from around the world.
