UPDATE: Driver in PCB fatal hit and run turns himself in

BAY COUNTY, FL -- (WTVY) UPDATE: 9/25/2017

The man wanted in a deadly hit-and-run accident in Panama City Beach in early September has turned himself in.

77-year-old Barry Gardner was taken into custody Saturday, September 23rd.

Investigators say Gardner was driving the car involved in a fatal hit and run that happened on September 2nd at the intersection of Highway 98 and Gulf View Drive.

They're still looking for Gardner's vehicle, a blue 2013 or ‘14 Toyota Prius with heavy front-end damage. If you know where it is, call the Florida Highway Patrol.


The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run over the weekend (Sept. 2). The vehicle is a blue 2013 /2014 Toyota Prius, and it will have heavy front-end damage.
Investigators says, the toyota collided with a motorcycle near the intersection of Gulf View Drive and US 98.
Both the driver and a passenger on the motorcycle were thrown from the bike.
After the initial crash, the passenger of the motorcycle was hit a second time by a Lexus.
Arkansas native, 23-year-old Rebecca Summar was not wearing a helmet and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the motorcycle--52-year old Robert Smith was transported to Bay Medical Hospital in critical condition.
