DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) — People were trained in case a shooting or threat occurs at their business.
The Department of Homeland Security says there are four simple steps to take.
Connect: Know your neighbors and law enforcement in the area.
Plan: Stay aware of potential threats.
Train: Teach employees how to identify anyone suspicious.
Report: Call police if you see anyone suspicious.
Deidre Frith from Realtime attended the seminar.
She says, "Watching and learning about active shooter situations is important because you never know if someone you worked with who isn’t happy will come in or if someone from the street so it is nice to educate ourselves."
The active shooter seminar was held at the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce.
