Landmark Park Animal Adventures program features radical reptiles

HEADLAND, Ala. (WTVY) -- Summertime in Alabama brings heat and with that heat comes out the snakes.

A snake keeper, Page Whatley, educated a group in the Landmark Park auditorium Friday on the different types of snakes and presented some that patrol the area.

“Snakes don’t chase you,” said Whatley.

“People get so afraid of snakes and have such a phobia of it that they assume these snakes are chasing them. If you hold still, there’s not one snake in Alabama that’ll come up and bite you.”

Landmark Park features different creatures every Friday in June and July as part of its “Animal Adventures” program.
