A Fort Walton Beach man is facing charges after allegedly kidnapping a woman and leading authorities on a chase.
Jackson County Sheriff's Officials arrested Albert McKinnie, 36, on Sunday after a woman told employees at a Cottondale truck stop McKinnie kidnapped her.
They say McKinnie held the woman at gunpoint in Fort Walton Beach and forced her to drive around while threatening her and battering her. They say she convinced McKinnie to let her stop at the truck stop to use the bathroom and she told employees what had happened. They then called 911.
When deputies and police showed up they say McKinnie took off, leading them on a high-speed chase.
A Florida Highway Patrol Trooper was able to stop him in Washington County.
Mckinnie is facing charges of fleeing/eluding, robbery (carjacking with a firearm), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of cocaine, grand theft motor vehicle, and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.
