DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -- A group of Dothan students sent their state representative handwritten letters with a special request.
Alabama Representative Paul Lee granted their wish.
Fourth grade Linc students at Faine Elementary School reached out to Representative Lee after they realized their school had no state flag.
So, he presented them with an Alabama flag and also taught them about flag etiquette.
Lee also invited the students to Montgomery for the next session, telling them they'd get a tour of his office, statehouse, and senate chambers.
"That’s where you learn what you can do to make a difference and that's a perfect place for them to begin learning that," says Lee.
Lee said he will also try to set up a tour of the capitol as well.
