Randy Harwood was one of 150 people chosen for the opportunity of a lifetime.

"I love Christmas. I love everything about Christmas," said Harwood.

Harwood said he applied back in the summer. Harwood was in the Army, and he said being a part of the decorating team is another way he is serving his country.

"It's been amazing," he said.

Harwood said he and the other volunteers work long days from early in the morning, until late at night at a warehouse. They will pack the decorations before they head over to the White House.

Harwood is also invited to a Holiday Reception at the White House with First Lady Melania Trump on Monday, Dec. 2.
