Alabama Historical Commission to host free training session for historic preservation members next week

If historic preservation is your passion, you may want to check out this workshop coming to Dothan next Wednesday.

The Alabama Historical Commission, along with the City of Dothan Planning Department and Dothan Historic Preservation Commission, will host a training session for area historic preservation members and staff. Local communities interested in setting up a local preservation commission are also encouraged to attend. The workshop will also cover topics like listing properties on both the National and Alabama Registries. Participants will learn about ordering historical markers, tax incentives, and applying for grants.

The Historical Preservation Workshop will be held July 26th from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Dothan Opera House.
