GENEVA, AL. (WTVY) - The Alabama Forestry Commission unveiled a new device to help landowners in the Geneva County Forestry Association.
They now have a drone to take aerial photos to survey property.
It will also help with fire control.
Lester Williams, Forest Specialist with the Alabama Forestry Commission says, "If we have a fire on the property, we would be better able. If it's a large fire, they can bring this drone and we can actually tell where the location of the fire is so we can keep fire fighters more safe at the time of the fire."
The drone will also show locations of roads and businesses, allowing the forestry commission to assess land value and help landowners.
