AL family shares 9-year-old daughter’s battle, victory with cancer in book
Kate Miller is close to finishing third grade, but she had another celebration recently.
On May 7, 9-year-old Kate celebrated her sixth year in remission in her battle with cancer.
In 2013, Kate was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia T-cell and immediately underwent chemotherapy for more than two and a half years. Her battle is the inspiration to a book written by her mom, Erin Miller, called “Fighting for Kate.”
“It was a difficult time, but we had faith,” said Erin Miller. “She was a trooper and all her doctors and nurses at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital were incredible and we just cannot thank everyone enough. The journey we all went through was an amazing story and I felt we needed to share it with others that are going through some kind of adversity.”
The book was published by 5 Fold Media LLC and is available for purchase.
