13 proud graduates of the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine’s inaugural class of 2017 were recognized Friday for their commitment to the military in their college's first ever Commissioning Ceremony.
Friends and family gathered at ACOM to honor the students who have chosen to pursue careers in military medicine.
The Daleville High School ROTC and brass ensemble were there to present the colors and perform the national anthem.
Additionally, each graduate received a military Challenge Coin to thank them for their service.
The keynote speaker- Cpt. Timothy Mott- centered his speech around Robert Frosts' "The road not taken."
According to Dean of ACOM Craig Lenz, every student graduating has secured a residency.
Graduation for the entire ACOM class of 2017 will be held Saturday at 10 am at the Dothan Civic Center.
