ACOM donates backpacks with supplies for local students

DOTHAN, AL (WTVY) In Dothan, over 700 backpacks were loaded onto a school bus Friday.

This philanthropy conducted by Alabama College Of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) students marked the conclusion of the school's orientation week with a focus today on service.

These backpacks are filled with supplies-ranging from crayons to scissors as well as a plastic stethoscope and Dr. Seuss quote.

They will go to all students at Faine and Cloverdale Elementary in Dothan.

Funding for the event was sponsored by Dothan OBGYN and additional supplies through Southeast Alabama Medical Center employees.
