ARITON, Ala, (WTVY) -- Football games in Ariton will be a little different for the upcoming year.

The school is getting its first marching band in almost 100 years.

The last time the school had one was in the 1920's.

Several projects are underway to get the program on its feet.

"We had nine last year and the next year we added a pom squad, dance team so we had a total of 31 and now this year we've got 45 so we've progressed," said Eric Swain, Band Director.

Ariton's first game of the season is August 23 at Dale County.
