As we move closer to August we typically see a rapid increase in activity across the Atlantic basin and Caribbean. Other than Barry it has been a quiet 2019 season to this point and I don't think you will find many complaining about that!
With that said, we are watching a couple areas for potential development over the next week or so. The first is a cluster of storms around a low near Puerto Rico in the east Caribbean. While development in the short term is unlikely it could bring rain to south Florida and other parts of the southeast by early next week assuming it holds together.
The other is a tropical wave well out in the eastern Atlantic, no major concern here as it is well over a week away from threatening any land mass.
