A dangerous heat wave is gripping parts of the southeast and southern plains as we begin the week. Forecasters from Georgia to Texas are calling for high temperatures to reach the mid to upper 90s, but that's not the scary part. With an abundance of low level moisture the "heat index" or general feels like temperature will be in upwards of 103 degrees!
Here locally we have a Heat Advisory in place for much of Monday and Tuesday afternoon before we see temps ease a bit later in the week. Rain chances come back into play closer to Thursday/Friday.
When working outside, careful to watch out for the signs of heat exhaustion both in yourself and others around you: confusion, fatigue, headache, abdominal or muscle cramps. Actions can save a life.
