JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) -- Two Florida springs are getting a boost thanks to state funding.
Blue Springs in Jackson County and Econfina Springs in Bay County are getting some money from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
It's part of the "Fighting for Florida's Future" budget.
The goal of the project is to improve water quality, reduce nutrient loading, recharge water supplies, and protect the habitat.
Blue Springs will receive $2 million for its agricultural cost share grant program.
Econfina will receive $1 million to buy land near the springs to benefit the Econfina recharge area.
