ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) -- The Republican Women of Coffee County held their first meeting of the new year earlier today at the Enterprise Country Club.
The meeting was a forum that included 5 of the 7 candidates for Alabama's second congressional district.
In attendance were Thomas W. Brown, Jr., Jeff Coleman, Troy King, Bary Moore, and Bob Rogers.
Terri Hasdorff and Jessica Taylor did not attend.
Each candidate spoke about their campaign platforms, which included concerns about the military and the economy.
The organization's president, Virginia Howard believes it is important for voters to know about each candidate before casting their votes.
"You know so many times when we go to the primary to vote, there's all of these names and we have no idea who they are. So that's why it is important for people to come to meetings like this to get educated” Howard said.
The Alabama primary election is on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020.
