Dothan murder suspect identified, turns self in
21-year-old Kevone Devontay Smith is being charged with Capital Murder and two counts of Intimidating a Witness.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Kevone Devontay Smith has turned himself in, according to police. He is now officially charged with one count of Capital Murder and two counts of Intimidating a Witness.
No bond has been set at this time.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Dothan Police have identified a suspect in relation to an early November murder.
According to a Wednesday press release, 21-year-old Kevone Devontay Smith is being sought by the department. Smith, who has outstanding warrants for one count of Capital Murder and two counts of Intimidating a Witness, is being linked to the November 9 incident in the 800 block of Miles Lane that resulted in the death of 35-year-old Samuel Jeffrey Gray.
Smith has a previous criminal record, as noted by News 4 and Dothan Police, including a 2019 incident of leading police on a chase and manhunt after stealing a car and an arrest in August 2022 for Robbery first degree.
