UAH Materials Science, Optics Buildings briefly evacuated following chemical spill

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - The University of Alabama Huntsville evacuated two buildings following a chemical release Wednesday morning.
According to a UAH spokesperson, the Materials Science Building and Optics Building were evacuated due to a chemical spill in a single lab, and no injuries were reported.
The UAH Office of Environmental Health and Safety and Huntsville Fire & Rescue’s Hazardous Materials Team responded to the spill.
Both buildings have reopened and normal on-campus operations have resumed.
