DOTHAN, Ala.-- Bomb experts determined a package, or some type of container, left at the federal courthouse in Dothan does not pose a threat.

The suspicious item was discovered around 7:30 Wednesday morning at the historic building on West Troy Street.

By 9:30, officers had cleared the area and the bomb squad departed.

Local law enforcement directed inquiries to the Federal Bureau of Investigation who did not immediately issue a statement. News 4 left a message at the FBI field office in Mobile.

However, a source said papers were found inside that container.
