ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) --

Thursday marks seven weeks until Enterprise High School’s scheduled graduation.

Turf installation could cause problems for the seniors to get a traditional graduation, but a little bit of optimism for the class of 2021 who has had anything but a normal year.

Some good news was delivered this week for seniors.

“The projection is for the turf to be here by the end of this month or the very beginning of May so therefore it is 14 to 17 days according to them as far as to get that completed so the completion date right now is for the middle of May,” said Stan Sauls, Enterprise High School principal.

That completion date though is all dependent on the weather.

After being informed of the situation the school is in, AstroTurf, the company Enterprise City Schools awarded the project to, said they are doing their best to get this finished.

“They understand as far as the timeline we are under,” Sauls continued. “They have worked late evenings; we have turned the lights on as far as in the stadium and they have worked into the night and they’ve assured us as far as everything they can do around the clock to make this complete.”

Some more exciting news for EHS seniors was announced by the school earlier this week.

“We’re real thrilled and the students are really thrilled as far as us having prom,” Sauls added.

The school typically hosts prom at the Enterprise Civic Center but this year its being held on campus using the cafeteria and courtyard to social distance.

“There are a lot of things that we have had to do that we typically have not due to the circumstances so that may be possibly something that will stay in the future,” Sauls finished.

Prom will be held on Saturday May 22nd and graduation is set for May 27th.

Enterprise City Schools will also keep wearing masks through the end of the school year.
