DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -
The wait is finally over for teachers. This Friday, Dothan City School employees are set to receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
All Dothan City Schools will be closed this Friday, February 12th for all DCS employees who chose to be vaccinated.
Dennis Coe, acting superintendent for Dothan City Schools told WTVY that the closure is in case any individual is showing symptoms.
The missed day will not need to be made up.
“You know were already short handed with having enough subs to staff schools so if we had individuals throughout the week. If it weren’t on a coordinated day and they become symptomatic that exaggerates our problem with not having enough staff,” Dr. Dennis Coe, acting superintendent for Dothan City Schools said.
Dothan City Schools will also be closed on March 5th as employees receive their second dose of the vaccine.
