DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - After three seasons as the head football coach at Northside Methodist, Jason Hurst has resigned, announced Pastor Bill Reif, the head of school at Northside Methodist.

Reif sent an email to the local media which read:

“It is with very mixed emotions that we are announcing that Coach Jason Hurst has submitted his resignation citing personal reasons. He has asked us to honor a request for privacy to give him time to reflect on his future decisions. I would ask that you pray for him and for the NMA family as we now look forward to discovering the leader for the next chapter in our football program. We will be trusting God to raise up the perfect man to continue to build on the strong foundation built by Coach Hurst and his coaching staff.”

Hurst went 13-20 in his three seasons at NMA including a 5-6 record this past season.
