DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - A Circle City rivalry going down Friday at Houston Academy with the Raiders hosting the Providence Christian Eagles.

Two teams that met just a week ago, but here’s how they matched up Friday.

HA girls coming out strong to give themselves a double digit lead, but PCS finding some momentum from Anna Beth Townsend to start the third quarter.

She pulls up with the step back three finding nothing but the net.

The Raiders not phased though, as they come back with one of their own from Caley Caldwell to extend the lead to 21.

The Eagles can’t stop them as Abby Caldwell sinks the hook shot to help the Raiders defeat Providence for the second time this season.

Houston Academy with the 50-26 win.

As for the boys, it was another close one this week.

HA looking for redemption, but it’s Providence on the board first taking a commanding lead.

The Raiders start to find their rhythm as Rod Strickland hits the buzzer beater three to end the first quarter, and he’s feeling the love from that home crowd.

Raiders only down by two with seconds to go before the half, and Kamryn Mitchell comes up big with the offensive rebound and put back to tie it up at 20.

Houston Academy with the home win this time 50-46 over Providence Christian.

HA improves to 11-6 on the season.
