DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -

UPDATE: The Dothan Police Department are investigating its first murder of 2021, following the shooting death of a Dothan man. The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Rambo Willis, Jr of Dothan. Police say he was shot multiple times.

Police responded about 4 P.M. to the 900 block of Morris Street. Several people have been questioned but so far, WTVY knows of no charges at this time.

A man was shot and killed Sunday afternoon in Dothan and three persons of interest have been detained, according to police reports. The shooting occurred at 4:15 near the intersection of Morris of Meridian Streets, not far from Third Avenue. His body was lying along the curb of the street.

Less than five minutes after police arrived, they received a tip that a vehicle perhaps involved in that shooting was traveling near the crime scene. Officers stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of a convenience store and took the three suspects into custody without incident.

Additional information will be released by Dothan police.
