HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) -Earlier this week we told you the claims accounts for some unemployed Alabamians went to zero.

Well that’s not the case for many people anymore.

The Alabama Department of Labor has started issuing the $300 dollars in added benefits that was approved by Congress.

Those funds should continue weekly for at least 11 weeks.

If you’re eligible, all you have to do is to continue to file your weekly certification forms.

ADOL estimates $41 million in payments have been released to approximately 85,000 claimants this week.

“I’m just grateful it’s all back and keeping my fingers crossed I can find a decent job in the next few weeks. It’s been a long haul,” Sunny Corbett, an unemployed bartender said.

Do you have questions about your claim? The Alabama Department of Labor now has a new phone appointment system.

To make an appointment, call 1-(800) 361-4524 anytime after 5 p.m. It will be an automated system. Be prepared to give your social security number.

If there are available slots left, someone should call you the next day.
