Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Agency prepares for possible severe weather
DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -
As severe weather continues to become a risk going into the new year, the Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management agency wants to make sure everyone has a safety plan.
With thunderstorms and heavy rain approaching, flooding can become an issue.
When out on the roadway, use your headlights, be cautious and aware of other drivers, and avoid roads that may have standing water.
Dothan-Houston County EMA director, Chris Judah stresses that people should be vigilant with the changing weather.
“Make sure you have a place for your pets and accountability for everyone in your household, check on your neighbors, your elderly, things of that nature. So things that we always plan for and we should be ready for, now’s the time to make sure we’re ready. As we go in again into New Years Eve tonight be ready for some possible severe weather and have your plan in place and as long as people are careful and their cognizant of what’s going on I think we’ll be good,” Chris Judah, director of Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Agency said.
