SE Health suspends elective surgeries

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Southeast Health hospital is suspending some elective surgeries and lab procedures due to the increase in COVID-19 patients.
The hospital will start deferring elective surgeries and cath lab procedures requiring overnight hospitalization starting Thursday, Dec. 17.
“Taking care of our patients, including those who are COVID-19 positive, remains our top priority. We will return to a normal surgery schedule as soon as we deem it to be safe,” said Mark Stewart, SE Health’s Director Community Relations.
Semi-urgent, urgent and emergency care will continue in clinic and hospital settings.
