Tyson Carter, Assistant Director of Operations with Dothan Leisure Services said the decision was made to not renew the City’s contract with USTA to hold the tournament after the city could not secure the title sponsorship.

The 2020 tournament in April had been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“You have been an integral part of the success of the Pro Classic and we wanted you to know our appreciation for your support,” said Carter in a letter to tournament supporters. “The entire community, businesses, volunteers and staff have supported the only professional event in Dothan for 19 years.”
