ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) --

The city of Enterprise is jumping right into the holiday spirit with plenty of events through the first week of December.

With thanksgiving officially over, it’s time to deck the halls and get ready for Christmas.

“Our decorations are up, and we are ready to invite you to Enterprise to celebrate the holidays,” Enterprise Tourism Director Tammy Doerer said. “We are jampacked with activities and events this week and we are so excited to have everyone come and enjoy it.”

The city of Enterprise is starting off the month with their annual Christmas parade Tuesday night at 6:30.

“It is called Christmas in the city this year,” Doerer continued. “There’s over 100 units that are going to be a part of this wonderful parade.”

The following Thursday, the city will be back with another Christmas tradition.

“We will light up this beautiful Christmas tree right behind me,” Doerer added. “We invite you to join the mayor, Santa and the Grinch for hot cocoa, cookies helping us round out caroling, all kinds of fun events and lighting up the tree.”

The events continue into Saturday with the Enterprise Farmers Market from 7 a.m. to noon.

“We have Christmas at the market so you can get that holiday menu shopping done but also bring out the kids,” Doerer said. “There’s going to be ornament painting, story time with Santa, pictures with Santa.”

You may even spot the Grinch downtown from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“The streets of Main Street and College Street in downtown will turn into Whoville,” Doerer said. “We have over 70 vendors for all of your shopping needs along with our stores being open.”

After a difficult year, the city is trying to end 2020 on a good note.

“We think that these events that start this week will really bring our spirits back,” Doerer finished. “We really know that there’s still joy to be celebrated and we look forward not only to 2021 but to having everybody together.”
