DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - With Christmas less than a month away decorations are going up in the city of Geneva. The area is being transformed into an “Old-Fashioned Hallmark Christmas” just in time for the city’s major events this weekend.

The Geneva Christmas parade is scheduled for this Saturday, December 5th beginning at 1:00 p.m. Line up is at 12:00 p.m. at The Crossing Church. The parade will make its way downtown for the community to see.

Floats of local businesses, organizations and the Christmas queens will be showcased in the parade. It is not too late to sign up and participate.

”We want to give back to the community so we want it to just be fun and festive,” Shelby Danley, Greater Geneva Area Chamber Board Member, said. “Something for the kids to enjoy and for families to be able to get out and enjoy and it’s an outdoor event so we feel like everyone would be safe.”

Don’t forget, Christmas in the Park will take place at the Robert A. Fowler Memorial Park on Friday, December 4th beginning at 6:00 p.m. For more information on how your children can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and to see the Christmas lights and decorations click here.
