Robert A. Fowler Memorial Park prepares for Christmas in the Park
Geneva’s Christmas in the Park will be held Friday, Dec. 4 beginning at 6:00 p.m.
DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Christmas decorations are going up at Robert A. Fowler Memorial Park for the city of Geneva’s Christmas in the Park.
Businesses and organizations are coming together, creating their own scenes, to put on display to bring Christmas cheer to the community. You can see for yourself next Friday, December 4th, the lights will be lit for the first time that night beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Two special guests, Santa and Mrs. Claus, will be inside Santa’s workshop for photos with children. Safety precautions have been put in place to ensure social distancing while waiting to take pictures with Santa.
Live musicians will be playing under the gazebo and food vendors will also be there until 8:00 p.m. Visitors can bring lawn chairs, take a walk or even ride through the park to see the twinkly lights.
“There’s a lot of new things, and a few surprises coming up and everybody just needs to come on out next Friday and see what all we have to offer,” Jay Stough, Recreation Director of Geneva, said.
The park is extending their hours for the holiday season. It will now be open until 10 p.m. through the new year.
Santa will also make a visit to his Geneva workshop on Dec. 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, and 23 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
