Emotional change of responsibility and retirement ceremony held on Fort Rucker

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - It was a heartwarming moment on Fort Rucker as Command Sergeant Major Brian Hauke handed his responsibility off to Command Sergeant Major James Wilson. However it was also monumental for Command Sergeant Major Hauke and his wife Major Christi Hauke.

As they retired after 56 years of combined service in the Army.

“It’s been an extremely emotional day for Team Hauke, for myself and Christi with culminating 56 years of service with the Army we couldn’t be happier doing it here at Fort Rucker and in the Wiregrass community and surrounding areas,” said Command Sergeant Major Brian N. Hauke – Outgoing Command Sergeant Major.

The Haukes will be officially retired on the first day of March 2021.

“After being married for almost 24 years we started in Army Aviation at Fort Eustis and I told my husband that this would be the best time to retire we started aviation and we are finishing in aviation,” said Major Christi A. Hauke – Spouse.

Team Hauke is looking forward to their retirement in Central Flordia.

As for Fort Rucker, officials have high hopes for Command Seargeant Major Wilson and what he will bring to the aviation branch.
