ABBEVILLE, Ala. (WTVY) - For the third straight week, the Abbeville Yellow Jackets will host a playoff game.

That’s pretty unheard of in the AHSAA, but you won’t hear any complaining out of Labrian Stewart and his team.

The Yellow Jackets are undefeated at home this season. 6-0 including the two playoff victories.

After dominant wins over both Thorsby and B.B. Comer, the road to a state championship does not get any easier for Abbeville as Isabella makes it’s way to Henry County.

The Mustangs enter with a similar 10-1 record and a stingy defense that’s given up just 20 points through the first two rounds of the playoffs.

A tough challenge awaits the Yellow Jackets on Friday, but Stewart is sticking to the basics when it come to preparing for Isabella.

“We can’t turn it over against teams like this that is very solid on special teams and great defensively,” said Stewart. “They don’t really give up much and they haven’t given up much. For us to be successful, we have to win special teams, play Abbeville defense, and offensively just get in a rhythm and control the football.”
