Maci Cross signs with Alderson Broaddus softball
REHOBETH, Ala. (WTVY) - Country roads will soon be taking Rehobeth senior Maci Cross home as the Rebel softball player signed to continue her academic and athletic careers at Alderson Broaddus University in West Virginia.
Cross, who was called the mom of this Rehobeth team, has been instrumental in the Rebels success starting as the Rebels catcher since the eighth grade.
During her sophomore season, Cross hit .310 with four home runs and 24 RBI.
Despite the distance between Rehobeth and West Virginia, she said she felt at home with the Battlers.
“They have some of the best academics at West Virginia,” said Cross. “The coach made me feel at home. It wasn’t all about ball. He got to know me on a personal level. Of course for me that took me in and going that far off that was a thing I needed to do was feel at home wherever I was going.”
