Karoline Striplin signs with Tennessee
HARTFORD, Ala. (WTVY) - She may not know the words to “Rocky Top” just yet, but by the time she arrives on campus in Knoxville, Karoline Striplin will know it by heart.
Striplin, a senior at Geneva County High School, has made it official and signed to play basketball for the University of Tennessee.
One of the top recruits in the nation, Striplin committed to the Lady Vols this past February and never waivered on that commitment.
Striplin officially signed her paperwork on Wednesday but held a ceremony on Thursday with friends and family at the high school gymnasium. She called the morning she signed like waking up on Christmas morning.
In her junior season for the Bulldogs, Striplin averaged over 21 points per game and 13 rebounds.
Now that her college recruitment has been handled, she’s focused on bringing a state title back to Hartford.
“It feels awesome. It does feel like a relief,” said Striplin. “I’ll get to just play basketball this season and not worry about trying to really impress anyone. I can play just to win a sate championship and do what’s best for my team.”
