ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) --

Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation has pledged $20 million towards communities with Pilgrim’s plants as part of the company’s “Hometown Strong” initiative.

Pilgrim’s is investing $315,000 into the Enterprise community.

They are working with city leaders to identify where the funds can best help meet immediate and longer-term needs.

Those needs include food insecurity, community infrastructure and well-being, and COVID-19 emergency response and relief efforts.

“Our team members here will benefit from some of these areas where this money is going to go to and Pilgrim’s just wants to show the community that we are a good neighbor and we want to support our local communities during this pandemic,” said Pilgrim’s Enterprise complex manager David Massey.

The money will be distributed to the Enterprise community before the end of the year.
