DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -Steve Flowers, arguably Alabama’s best-known political analyst, predicts that Joe Biden will win Tuesday’s presidential election. Flowers believes enough voters blame President Trump for his handing of the pandemic that it will cost him a second term though Flowers blames China.

“This has been a year from hell. Nobody is going to forget this year. People have died, people have lost their job, and the economy is in the tank,” Flowers said Monday at a Dothan Rotary Club meeting.

Flowers, whose columns appear in over 60 newspapers, personally prefers Trump, joking that Biden will confuse the White House with a nursing home.

Even if Trump loses, he predicts Republicans will likely regain control of the Presidency in 2024.

His outlook is brighter for other Republicans appearing on Alabama’s ballot, including Tommy Tuberville who he believes will unseat incumbent U.S. Senator Doug Jones.

Flowers, a former state Republican lawmaker, also contributes commentary to several television stations. His first exposure to state politics came in the 1960′s at the age of 12, when Flowers was a page in the Alabama legislature.
