The City of Ozark swears in new leadership

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - New leadership has officially taken over in the City of Ozark as council members and new mayor were sworn into office.
After finishing with the most votes for the second time over incumbent Mayor Bob Bunting, Mark Blankenship is stepping into the Mayor’s seat.
He says he is ready to hit the ground running
“there is a lot of things we are going to be looking at from some demo projects to trying to do some growth and development and economic development side and just getting organized and our team efforts together,” said Mark Blankenship – Mayor of the City of Ozark.
As former Dale County Commission Chairman, Blankenship has partnered with the city before.
“I’ve worked with most of them in the past from the county commission chairman standpoint and i will just be working closer with them now I feel really good about the relationship between the mayor and the council,” said Blankenship.
Mayor Blankenship tells us he is excited to get started and start the growth in Ozark.
