DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -A woman faces Aggravated Child Abuse charges, accused of harming six children at the daycare where she worked. Police charged 36-year old Candelin Hyde on Thursday with Aggravated Child Abuse.  She is jailed on a $360,000 bond.

“She made admissions that she used tactics to control the children to include squeezing them in very sensitive spots, including the shoulders and neck and, sometimes, causing bruising,” said Dothan Police Lieutenant Scott Owens.

He said the daycare terminated Hyde after learning of the abuse and has cooperated with the investigation. Owens did not name the daycare, but public records identify the facility as Christian Kids Daycare on Executive Park Drive.  A message has been left seeking comment.

Hyde will likely face additional charges and the investigation is ongoing, per Owens, who believes the abuse began in August.
