DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Houston County election officials held a public testing of voting machines Monday afternoon at the Farm Center.

The process helps ensure that all machines are in working order before being sent to one of 28 precincts.

Probate Judge Patrick Davenport said new sanitizing stations, masks, and individual pens for each voter will be provided. He says he’s expecting a busy election day and wants everyone to remain safe.

“I’d encourage folks to find time throughout the day so they’re wait wont be long, but also so they’ll be appropriately socially distant," Davenport said. "So maybe not right at 7 o’clock in the morning or 5 o’clock. If you can find time if at all possible find times throughout the morning, mid-afternoon to come to the polls, you might find that easier and less congested.”

To find your voting location, you contact the registrar’s office or visit and look under the elections tab.
