Level Plains mayor honored for years of service
LEVEL PLAINS, Ala. (WTVY) --
The city of Level Plains honored their mayor one last time Tuesday for his service.
Mayor Bruce Grantham has served in public office for the city for more than three decades.
He served as volunteer fire chief before his time in public office tallying nearly 40 years of service to the city.
Grantham received a resolution approved by the State House for his years of public service from State Rep. Steve Clouse and a resolution from the Alabama Municipal League of Cities.
“I’ve been here a long time and worked hard for the citizens to always try to do the right thing and move the city forward because we’ve grown a lot since I have come here.”
The mayor had his last city council meeting tonight and the mayor-elect and long-time councilman Ronnie Thompson will be sworn in as Level Plains next mayor on November 2nd.
